There seems no end to the features I can toss onto this web site.  Fortunately most of the feature packages are free!  I'm nearly done with my original to-do list.

Check out the Site FAQ section for "Getting Started" articles as I have time to write them.  And This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you need clarification on something I've not yet included.

So far, I've added:

  • Forum -- No real activity to speak of yet.  The Bullseye-L list seems to meet most folks needs.   I suggest posting to the forum category of interest if you want your note to have some longevity or if your comment isn't particularly urgent.   I do plan to add a "Photos" category for posting pictures of gear, after I work out the configuration of the forum software package.
  • Newsletter -- Available to registered users only.   The Desert Midwinter Event Information newsletter only goes out when there's something important to say, so don't fear getting a ton of emails.
  • Calendar of Events -- This tool has a lot of potential.  Right now it holds events of interested to Arizona Bullseye shooters.   In particular the Phoenix Rod & Gun Club Pistol Division's 2008 Shooting Calendar, and National Matches calendar.   If you want more on the Calendar of  Events, send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we can try it out.
  • Links -- This is a simple catalog of links I've found or have been asked to add.  Standard sites for Bullseye shooters are posted.  You might find these handy if you're looking for a site and aren't on your personal computer with all your bookmarks.   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I have a few other ideas, depending on interest.  I may put up a poll if some of the ideas warrant feedback first.

  • Ed Skinner's Pistol Range Google Earth Database --  (We'll need to come up with a handy name for this).  Ed has built a neat Google Earth list of pistol ranges around the country.  By putting this into the site's database, that list should be easier to maintain.

If anyone is using the RSS Feed, let me know how it's going for you.

And if anyone wants to contribute articles and photos, drop me an email or Private Message!

One last point of interest for Geeks With Pistols.  This site is built using Joomla!   (Initial build uses version 1.0.13)  Joomla! is a free GPL (GNU Public License) content management system, using PHP and MySQL.  This site is hosted on a Linux environment.   The site template the Lightfast template purchased from Joomlashack for a mere $40.
