Old Timer's Match and AZ Senior Olympics - Saturday March 8, 2008 4 Months ago Karma: 0
This arrived in my email over the weekend:

QUOTE:
Dear Friends, A Reminder.

It's time to blow the dust off your guns and head down to the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club to shoot the Art Fox Match (AKA "Old Timers Match"). We will start around 1pm on Saturday March 8, 2008. The "Old Timers Match" will be held the same day as the Arizona Seniors Olympics (ASO). The Senior Olympics start Time is 8am, Sign in time is 7:30 AM

If you are in the habit of being up early you might as well come down and zero your gun in that match so that you can kick butt in the Art Fox Match, the match with no real competition.

All of you "Old Timers", 50 and over should take advantage of the Arizona Seniors Olympics. The course of fire is a modified International Centerfire Match, 30 shots precision and 30 shots duel, any caliber; however most folks use a .22 caliber. There are age categories, eleven in all, from 50 to over 100! Entries can be mailed to Arizona Senior Olympics, 1202 N 3rd Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004. You can also sign up the day of the competition, and an entry. additional fee of $5 will be added to

The Old Timers Match:
1) We'll fire (3) NMC: .22, CF and .45 and the Hutch Match all at 25 yards
2) Team Matches, drawing for teams after firing.
Ammo needed: MINIMUM number of rounds, 22 Cal 150, CF 60, 45 Cal 100. Note: This is only a guide line as to the number of rounds you may use.

3) Entry fee of $20 per shooter. After expenses the money will go to the Arizona State Association's Pistol Team Fund to send them to Camp Perry. Last year the state team won the Top Civilian SERVICE PISTOL team award, which is the OGLETHORPE Trophy. The Team fired a 1098-26X score. This is the first time that an Arizona team has won this trophy since it was established in 1962.

4) Refreshments will be available after the matches. Bring food to [POT LUCK] eat, something to drink, lies and stories to tell, memories to relive and something on which to sit! We will crank up the BBQ for those who want to cook some thing.

5) Feel free to contact any other shooting friends and invite them
also, I’m sure my list is not complete.... even rifle shooters are welcome.

6) Phoenix Rod and Gun has given the OK for those of you who want to park your camper or motor home overnight, there is a $5 fee that includes electrical hookup.

Come on out, shoot, visit, eat and all the while you'll be supporting
the Arizona Rifle and Pistol Association's Pistol Team endeavors to Camp Perry for the Nationals.

Bring a friend!!!!
