The original Desert Midwinter site was built on a shoe-string budget. I bought the domain name and latched on to free hosting from GoDaddy.

Hopefully, in the next few days (early November 2007), GoDaddy will honor my request to rehost this site using my business hosting account.

When that happens, the banner ads will disappear. That's the plan. Keep your fingers crossed.
