I'm still testing a "newsletter" component for the DMW site, so beware but feel free to give this a try.

News items added to the front pages of the Desert Midwinter Pistol Matches site are categorized, and you can subscribe to updates made to the different categories, like "Arizona Competitions" or "Desert Midwinter" or "National Competitions".

First, you must be a registered user of the site. This is a requirement of the subscription component, in order to ensure it has a valid email for your account.

After you log in, you'll see a Newsletter item appear in the main menu.

This will take you to a page listing the available subscriptions. Check the ones you want, press "Subscribe" and look for an email to confirm your subscription. The email may take a little while, but it'll get to you if you have a valid email on your account.

You will only receive emails when one of the main page news items is updated, according to your subscriptions. The emails are generated daily. Since the news items don't change all that often, this shouldn't be too noisy. If I get a lot of comments, I'll change the notices to weekly.

FYI -- this feature is disabled in favor of a simple "Subscription" sign up.

I didn't like the first package all that well.
